Melissa Rodriguez
English
I'm so happy to be back at CAT! This is my sixth year teaching and my fourth year at CAT. I earned my Bachelor of Arts at Brown University and my Masters in Education at Stanford. My own high school back in Miami, where I was raised, was massive and I saw many students fall through the cracks. Out of a freshman class of 1600, only 340 graduated four years later. That is why I'm committed to teaching in neighborhoods like the one in which I lived. I want to see all of our kids excel in high school and graduate into successful colleges or professional careers.
Lisa Grady

For graduate school I earned my teaching credential and Masters in Education from UC Santa Cruz. Alongside my formal education I have traveled all over the world, worked as a lift operator at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort (Wyoming), worked as a natural resource specalist, run an organic farm, taught in the Monterey Junior Lifeguard Program, and worked as an ocean lifeguard (Monterey County) for many years. In addition to teaching I love surfing, skiing/snowboarding, growing food/plants, traveling/road trips, riding my bike, hiking, sleeping, thought provoking political conversations, and playing around with my cat Pica.
